This is burden-shifting.<\/strong>\n    The civilization fails publicly, then hands the unpaid debt to private households.\n  <\/div>\n\n  <h2>Freda and Henry Were Not Just Building a Marriage<\/h2>\n\n  <p>\n    Freda and Henry were not only building a marriage.\n  <\/p>\n\n  <p>\n    They were being asked to carry an entire social arrangement.\n  <\/p>\n\n  <p>\n    Freda had to resist her mother\u2019s bitter teaching that \u201cmen suck,\u201d \u201cmen cheat,\u201d and \u201cmen are no good.\u201d\n  <\/p>\n\n  <p>\n    She had to resist suspicion planting.\n  <\/p>\n\n  <p>\n    Resist invasive questions.\n  <\/p>\n\n  <p>\n    Resist family business being leaked to hair-salon friends and gossipers.\n  <\/p>\n\n  <p>\n    Resist her husband being disrespected to his face.\n  <\/p>\n\n  <p>\n    Resist her marriage being pulled under another woman\u2019s bitterness.\n  <\/p>\n\n  <p>\n    Henry had to resist being used by relatives who had not protected him when he struggled.\n  <\/p>\n\n  <p>\n    He had worked since sixteen.\n  <\/p>\n\n  <p>\n    He was kicked out at eighteen and told to \u201cgo be a man.\u201d\n  <\/p>\n\n  <p>\n    He sent himself to university through scholarships, odd jobs, pool cleaning, and a dorm-room printing business.\n  <\/p>\n\n  <p>\n    Then, after he became stable, relatives wanted to use him as a father figure, moral repairman, reference provider, speech-giver, status symbol, and even adoption solution for a brother who refused to step up.\n  <\/p>\n\n  <p>\n    That was not support.\n  <\/p>\n\n  <p>\n    That was extraction.\n  <\/p>\n\n  <p>\n    And on top of that, the marriage had to face the ordinary old-world stack: housing, food, transportation, daycare, school costs, work pressure, health costs, privacy invasion, and future fear.\n  <\/p>\n\n  <div class=\"tbf-quote\">\n    <strong>Freda and Henry were not just asked to love each other.
