America became militarily powerful. America built enormous corporations. Its movies entered your homes. Its music entered your children’s ears. Its universities gained prestige. Its celebrities became your celebrities. Its political arguments became everybody else’s political arguments.<\/p>\n\n And far too many nations swallowed one stupid idea:<\/p>\n\n If America is doing it, this must be where modern civilization is going.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n Look again.<\/p>\n\n America does not symbolize the future to me.<\/p>\n\n It symbolizes decay and rot<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n A civilization can build magnificent machines and still become morally stupid.<\/p>\n\n It can put a computer in nearly every hand while weakening the family holding those hands together.<\/p>\n\n It can become technologically advanced while becoming spiritually empty.<\/p>\n\n It can call sexual disorder liberation.<\/p>\n\n It can call restraint oppression.<\/p>\n\n It can call family breakdown freedom.<\/p>\n\n It can call vulgarity sophistication.<\/p>\n\n It can push God away from public moral authority and call the result enlightenment.<\/p>\n\n Then, because it has enough money, media, universities, corporations, military power and cultural reach, it can broadcast those ideas across Earth and convince weaker-minded nations that copying them is progress.<\/p>\n\n So I have a question for you nations:<\/p>\n\n Why in God’s name are you still following her?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n And more plainly:<\/p>\n\n Will you foolish nations really continue following this stupid bitch nation and its culture?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n <h2>I Am Not Here to Catalogue America’s Crimes<\/h2>\n\n I am not writing an encyclopedia of American crimes.<\/p>\n\n I do not need to.<\/p>\n\n Wars. Political interference. Propaganda. Corporate abuse. Government abuses. Racial exploitation. Media manipulation. Foreign intervention.<\/p>\n\n Other people can spend the next hundred years arguing through that record.<\/p>\n\n That is not my purpose here.<\/p>\n\n My question is simpler:<\/p>\n\n Why is this civilization still your teacher?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n Why should an idea become respectable in Brazil because America embraced it?<\/p>\n\n Why should Jamaica alter its understanding of family because American entertainment changed?<\/p>\n\n Why should African nations reorganize their moral thinking because an American university produced a fashionable new doctrine?<\/p>\n\n Why should Asian parents assume that whatever became fashionable in Los Angeles or New York represents the next stage of human advancement?<\/p>\n\n Why should anybody?<\/p>\n\n America’s power does not make America wise.<\/p>\n\n America’s wealth does not make America morally correct.<\/p>\n\n America’s ability to distribute an idea does not prove that the idea deserves to survive.<\/p>\n\n Americanization is not modernization.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n A nation can use an American computer without adopting America’s sexual culture.<\/p>\n\n A nation can learn from an American engineer without accepting America’s philosophy of family.<\/p>\n\n A nation can benefit from an American medical discovery without handing Hollywood permission to raise its children.<\/p>\n\n A nation can trade with America without surrendering its moral imagination to America.<\/p>\n\n Take what is useful.<\/p>\n\n Leave what is rotten.<\/p>\n\n That is what an intelligent nation does.<\/p>\n\n\n <h2>What America Taught the World to Call Progress<\/h2>\n\n Start with God.<\/p>\n\n In 1962, Engel v. Vitale<\/em> struck down a state-written prayer used in New York public schools. In 1963, Abington School District v. Schempp<\/em> struck down government-required devotional Bible reading and prayer in public schools. American law still protects private religious expression by students; current federal guidance says public schools themselves may not prescribe or sponsor prayer but also may not turn schools into religion-free zones. (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.loc.gov\/item\/usrep370421\/?utm_source=chatgpt.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">loc.gov<\/a>)<\/p>\n\n Those are the legal facts.<\/p>\n\n Here is my accusation:<\/p>\n\n America deliberately removed God from school training.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n By that I mean something precise.<\/p>\n\n The American state deliberately removed the public school itself from the business of training children under God as a shared moral authority.<\/p>\n\n A child may still pray.<\/p>\n\n A child may still believe.<\/p>\n\n A child may still carry a Bible.<\/p>\n\n But the institution itself does not stand before the child and teach:<\/p>\n\n There is a God above you.<\/p>\n\n You are accountable beyond yourself.<\/p>\n\n Human desire is not the highest authority.<\/p>\n\n Freedom does not mean doing whatever feels good.<\/p>\n\n Some things remain right when you dislike them.<\/p>\n\n Some things remain wrong when you desire them.<\/p>\n\n America calls this governmental neutrality.<\/p>\n\n Fine.<\/p>\n\n The institutional result is still that God no longer occupies the chair of shared moral authority.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n And morality did not disappear when God left that chair.<\/p>\n\n Someone else sat down.<\/p>\n\n Schools still communicate values.<\/p>\n\n Entertainment communicates values.<\/p>\n\n Universities communicate values.<\/p>\n\n Corporations communicate values.<\/p>\n\n Culture tells children what freedom means.<\/p>\n\n Culture tells them what sex means.<\/p>\n\n Culture tells them what adulthood means.<\/p>\n\n Culture tells them which boundaries deserve respect and which boundaries deserve ridicule.<\/p>\n\n America did not create a society without moral instruction.<\/p>\n\n It changed the instructor.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n Then came sexual \u201cliberation.\u201d<\/p>\n\n Sex was progressively pulled away from marriage.<\/p>\n\n Pulled away from permanence.<\/p>\n\n Pulled away from family formation.<\/p>\n\n Pulled away from chastity.<\/p>\n\n And after loosening the boundaries, the culture began ridiculing the people who kept them.<\/p>\n\n In a Pew Research Center survey, 65% of U.S. adults said sex between unmarried adults in a committed relationship could be acceptable, while 62% said casual sex between consenting adults outside a committed relationship could be acceptable at least sometimes. (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.pewresearch.org\/social-trends\/2020\/08\/20\/public-attitudes-about-todays-dating-landscape\/?utm_source=chatgpt.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">pewresearch.org<\/a>)<\/p>\n\n There is the reversal:<\/p>\n\n Marriage became optional while sex became expected.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n Think about how stupid that is.<\/p>\n\n A young person says:<\/p>\n\n \u201cI intend to wait until marriage.\u201d<\/p>\n\n Modern culture looks at that person as unusual.<\/p>\n\n Another says:<\/p>\n\n \u201cI am sleeping with someone I am not prepared to marry.\u201d<\/p>\n\n And that is supposed to be ordinary maturity.<\/p>\n\n Promiscuity gets dressed up as experience.<\/p>\n\n Chastity gets mocked as ignorance.<\/p>\n\n Sexual restraint becomes something young people are expected to defend.<\/p>\n\n Pornography followed the same road.<\/p>\n\n What previous generations had to deliberately seek can now travel through the same little machine a child carries in a pocket.<\/p>\n\n A Pew survey published in 2026 found that 52% of U.S. adults considered viewing pornography morally wrong. But 47% either considered it morally acceptable or did not regard it as a moral issue. (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.pewresearch.org\/religion\/2026\/03\/19\/appendix-detailed-tables-us-morality\/?utm_source=chatgpt.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">pewresearch.org<\/a>)<\/p>\n\n Nearly half.<\/p>\n\n And America wants to teach the world what progress looks like?<\/p>\n\n No.<\/p>\n\n Look at the direction:<\/p>\n\n Sexual \u201cliberation.\u201d<\/p>\n\n Promiscuity as maturity.<\/p>\n\n Pornography normalization.<\/p>\n\n Family breakdown presented as personal freedom.<\/p>\n\n The sexualization of adolescence.<\/p>\n\n Contempt for chastity.<\/p>\n\n Marriage treated as optional while sex is expected.<\/p>\n\n Then look at the commercial machinery surrounding this sexual order.<\/p>\n\n Pornography companies sell access.<\/p>\n\n Dating companies sell access to one another.<\/p>\n\n Contraceptive manufacturers sell products.<\/p>\n\n Testing services manage risk.<\/p>\n\n Abortion providers respond when pregnancies are unwanted.<\/p>\n\n Fertility medicine responds when reproduction becomes difficult.<\/p>\n\n Counselors try to help people through pain.<\/p>\n\n Apps monetize attention.<\/p>\n\n Entertainment sells sexual imagery.<\/p>\n\n Not everyone working in these systems wants family breakdown. Many are responding to real human needs and real suffering.<\/p>\n\n That is not my accusation.<\/p>\n\n My accusation is more structural:<\/p>\n\n A civilization that loosened the bonds around sex, marriage and family also developed enormous markets for managing sex, avoiding its consequences, treating its consequences, recovering from its consequences and selling people more sexual stimulation along the way.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n That is one hell of an economy to build around \u201cliberation.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n <h2>America Did Not Merely Export Entertainment<\/h2>\n\n This is what foolish nations fail to understand.<\/p>\n\n America did not merely export movies.<\/p>\n\n America exported definitions.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n What freedom means.<\/p>\n\n What adulthood means.<\/p>\n\n What sex means.<\/p>\n\n What family means.<\/p>\n\n What sophistication means.<\/p>\n\n What an \u201cempowered\u201d woman is supposed to accept.<\/p>\n\n What an \u201cexperienced\u201d man is supposed to have done.<\/p>\n\n What teenagers are supposedly ready for.<\/p>\n\n Which old boundaries should be laughed at.<\/p>\n\n Which beliefs supposedly prove that a nation is backward.<\/p>\n\n And America had one hell of a machine for spreading those definitions.<\/p>\n\n Hollywood.<\/p>\n\n Music.<\/p>\n\n Advertising.<\/p>\n\n Universities.<\/p>\n\n News.<\/p>\n\n Social media.<\/p>\n\n Celebrity culture.<\/p>\n\n Corporations.<\/p>\n\n Political institutions.<\/p>\n\n Technology platforms.<\/p>\n\n The message did not always arrive announcing:<\/p>\n\n HELLO. I AM PROPAGANDA.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n Of course not.<\/p>\n\n It arrived beautiful.<\/p>\n\n Funny.<\/p>\n\n Sexy.<\/p>\n\n Rich.<\/p>\n\n Educated.<\/p>\n\n Advanced.<\/p>\n\n Cool.<\/p>\n\n The liberated girl in the movie.<\/p>\n\n The experienced boy in the song.<\/p>\n\n The faithful person written as an idiot.<\/p>\n\n The virgin written as defective.<\/p>\n\n The father made useless.<\/p>\n\n The marriage made boring.<\/p>\n\n The affair made exciting.<\/p>\n\n The child surrounded by adult sexual culture while everybody pretends this is normal.<\/p>\n\n People copied before they realized they had been taught.<\/p>\n\n An idea does not become wise because America learned how to broadcast it in 4K.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n <h2>And I Have Not Forgotten the Propaganda<\/h2>\n\n Do not mistake my refusal to catalogue every offense for ignorance of the machinery.<\/p>\n\n My accusation remains exactly this:<\/p>\n\n Deliberate propaganda campaigns, deliberate stirring of racial tensions, fake news, fake incidents used to push narratives and evil laws<\/strong><\/p>\n\n There.<\/p>\n\n I said it.<\/p>\n\n I am not giving this accusation twenty sections because America is not the main subject of my article.<\/p>\n\n You nations are.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n Why do you keep outsourcing your thinking?<\/p>\n\n You have eyes.<\/p>\n\n Use them.<\/p>\n\n You have historians.<\/p>\n\n Use them.<\/p>\n\n You have journalists.<\/p>\n\n Use them.<\/p>\n\n You have mothers and fathers.<\/p>\n\n Listen to them.<\/p>\n\n You have minds.<\/p>\n\n For God’s sake, use them.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n Do not import somebody else’s outrage before investigating the truth.<\/p>\n\n Do not import American racial categories as though every country’s people and history are identical.<\/p>\n\n Do not allow foreign institutions to select your moral panic for you.<\/p>\n\n Do not confuse repetition with truth.<\/p>\n\n Do not confuse emotional intensity with evidence.<\/p>\n\n A nation that cannot think for itself is not modern.<\/p>\n\n It is trainable.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n <h2>Look at the Civilization Producing the Lessons<\/h2>\n\n Now look at the teacher.<\/p>\n\n Not the skyscrapers.<\/p>\n\n Not Hollywood.<\/p>\n\n Not Silicon Valley.<\/p>\n\n Look at human life.<\/p>\n\n Look at the family.<\/p>\n\n Look at the relationships between men and women.<\/p>\n\n Look at loneliness.<\/p>\n\n Look at pornography.<\/p>\n\n Look at the struggle to form and maintain stable households.<\/p>\n\n Look at parents exhausted by the combined weight of earning, housing, childcare, transport, household management and the thousand invisible tasks required merely to keep a family running.<\/p>\n\n Look at children spending enormous portions of their lives between institutions and screens because the adults around them are exhausted.<\/p>\n\n Look at what was promised.<\/p>\n\n Then look at what exists.<\/p>\n\n In 2024, 39.5% of U.S. births were to unmarried women. (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.cdc.gov\/nchs\/data\/nvsr\/nvsr75\/nvsr75-02.pdf?utm_source=chatgpt.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">cdc.gov<\/a>)<\/p>\n\n The U.S. Surgeon General has itself treated loneliness and social isolation as serious threats to individual and societal health and well-being. (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.hhs.gov\/surgeongeneral\/priorities\/index.html?utm_source=chatgpt.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">hhs.gov<\/a>)<\/p>\n\n Those facts do not need to prove that one cultural change caused every American problem.<\/p>\n\n That is not my argument.<\/p>\n\n My argument is:<\/p>\n\n Study the fruit before you plant the seed.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n If you copy another civilization’s assumptions about sex, family, childhood, work, freedom, community and human purpose, do not act astonished when your society begins resembling the civilization you copied.<\/p>\n\n A seed tends toward its own fruit.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n Choose your seeds carefully.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n <h2>Modern Does Not Mean American<\/h2>\n\n Here is another stupid idea that needs to home should not consume decades of a family’s life merely to remain theirs.<\/p>\n\n It should shelter them.<\/p>\n\n Food should not be designed first for trucks, warehouses and shelf life while flavor becomes an afterthought.<\/p>\n\n Fruit should be grown for the person eating it.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n Children should not experience food only as something appearing in plastic from a supermarket.<\/p>\n\n Let them see trees bear.<\/p>\n\n Let them harvest.<\/p>\n\n Let them cook.<\/p>\n\n Let them watch adults repair the irrigation line, build the machine, prepare the meal, mend the garment and solve the problem.<\/p>\n\n Let civilization happen around them.<\/p>\n\n Young people should become capable before adulthood arrives and asks what they can do.<\/p>\n\n Public places should be beautiful because ordinary human beings deserve beauty.<\/p>\n\n Health systems should fight suffering because suffering should be fought, not because suffering created a profitable customer.<\/p>\n\n Machines should remove needless strain.<\/p>\n\n Work remains because life still needs doing<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n But if machinery, science and accumulated human knowledge never return substantial time to human beings, then what exactly was all that advancement for?<\/p>\n\n Rest should not be a luxury sold back to exhausted people.<\/p>\n\n Family should not be squeezed into whatever hours the economic system forgot to consume.<\/p>\n\n God should not be treated as an embarrassing relic from humanity’s primitive years.<\/p>\n\n Husband and wife should not be cultural enemies.<\/p>\n\n Children should not be commercial targets waiting to be captured by the next screen.<\/p>\n\n Abundance should be physical.<\/p>\n\n Food you can pick.<\/p>\n\n Water you can trust.<\/p>\n\n Land producing.<\/p>\n\n Homes standing.<\/p>\n\n Machines working.<\/p>\n\n Things being repaired instead of discarded.<\/p>\n\n People knowing how to make things.<\/p>\n\n Families having time to be families.<\/p>\n\n That is another direction.<\/p>\n\n Not capitalism painted green.<\/p>\n\n Not communism wearing beautiful clothes.<\/p>\n\n Not an NGO program.<\/p>\n\n Not an America became militarily powerful. America built enormous corporations. Its movies entered your homes. Its music entered your children’s ears. Its universities gained prestige. Its celebrities became your celebrities. Its political arguments became everybody else’s political arguments.<\/p>\n\n And far too many nations swallowed one stupid idea:<\/p>\n\n If America is doing it, this must be where modern civilization is going.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n Look again.<\/p>\n\n America does not symbolize the future to me.<\/p>\n\n It symbolizes decay and rot<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n A civilization can build magnificent machines and still become morally stupid.<\/p>\n\n It can put a computer in nearly every hand while weakening the family holding those hands together.<\/p>\n\n It can become technologically advanced while becoming spiritually empty.<\/p>\n\n It can call sexual disorder liberation.<\/p>\n\n It can call restraint oppression.<\/p>\n\n It can call family breakdown freedom.<\/p>\n\n It can call vulgarity sophistication.<\/p>\n\n It can push God away from public moral authority and call the result enlightenment.<\/p>\n\n Then, because it has enough money, media, universities, corporations, military power and cultural reach, it can broadcast those ideas across Earth and convince weaker-minded nations that copying them is progress.<\/p>\n\n So I have a question for you nations:<\/p>\n\n Why in God’s name are you still following her?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n And more plainly:<\/p>\n\n Will you foolish nations really continue following this stupid bitch nation and its culture?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n <h2>I Am Not Here to Catalogue America’s Crimes<\/h2>\n\n I am not writing an encyclopedia of American crimes.<\/p>\n\n I do not need to.<\/p>\n\n Wars. Political interference. Propaganda. Corporate abuse. Government abuses. Racial exploitation. Media manipulation. Foreign intervention.<\/p>\n\n Other people can spend the next hundred years arguing through that record.<\/p>\n\n That is not my purpose here.<\/p>\n\n My question is simpler:<\/p>\n\n Why is this civilization still your teacher?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n Why should an idea become respectable in Brazil because America embraced it?<\/p>\n\n Why should Jamaica alter its understanding of family because American entertainment changed?<\/p>\n\n Why should African nations reorganize their moral thinking because an American university produced a fashionable new doctrine?<\/p>\n\n Why should Asian parents assume that whatever became fashionable in Los Angeles or New York represents the next stage of human advancement?<\/p>\n\n Why should anybody?<\/p>\n\n America’s power does not make America wise.<\/p>\n\n America’s wealth does not make America morally correct.<\/p>\n\n America’s ability to distribute an idea does not prove that the idea deserves to survive.<\/p>\n\n Americanization is not modernization.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n A nation can use an American computer without adopting America’s sexual culture.<\/p>\n\n A nation can learn from an American engineer without accepting America’s philosophy of family.<\/p>\n\n A nation can benefit from an American medical discovery without handing Hollywood permission to raise its children.<\/p>\n\n A nation can trade with America without surrendering its moral imagination to America.<\/p>\n\n Take what is useful.<\/p>\n\n Leave what is rotten.<\/p>\n\n That is what an intelligent nation does.<\/p>\n\n\n <h2>What America Taught the World to Call Progress<\/h2>\n\n Start with God.<\/p>\n\n In 1962, Engel v. Vitale<\/em> struck down a state-written prayer used in New York public schools. In 1963, Abington School District v. Schempp<\/em> struck down government-required devotional Bible reading and prayer in public schools. American law still protects private religious expression by students; current federal guidance says public schools themselves may not prescribe or sponsor prayer but also may not turn schools into religion-free zones. (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.loc.gov\/item\/usrep370421\/?utm_source=chatgpt.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">loc.gov<\/a>)<\/p>\n\n Those are the legal facts.<\/p>\n\n Here is my accusation:<\/p>\n\n America deliberately removed God from school training.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n By that I mean something precise.<\/p>\n\n The American state deliberately removed the public school itself from the business of training children under God as a shared moral authority.<\/p>\n\n A child may still pray.<\/p>\n\n A child may still believe.<\/p>\n\n A child may still carry a Bible.<\/p>\n\n But the institution itself does not stand before the child and teach:<\/p>\n\n There is a God above you.<\/p>\n\n You are accountable beyond yourself.<\/p>\n\n Human desire is not the highest authority.<\/p>\n\n Freedom does not mean doing whatever feels good.<\/p>\n\n Some things remain right when you dislike them.<\/p>\n\n Some things remain wrong when you desire them.<\/p>\n\n America calls this governmental neutrality.<\/p>\n\n Fine.<\/p>\n\n The institutional result is still that God no longer occupies the chair of shared moral authority.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n And morality did not disappear when God left that chair.<\/p>\n\n Someone else sat down.<\/p>\n\n Schools still communicate values.<\/p>\n\n Entertainment communicates values.<\/p>\n\n Universities communicate values.<\/p>\n\n Corporations communicate values.<\/p>\n\n Culture tells children what freedom means.<\/p>\n\n Culture tells them what sex means.<\/p>\n\n Culture tells them what adulthood means.<\/p>\n\n Culture tells them which boundaries deserve respect and which boundaries deserve ridicule.<\/p>\n\n America did not create a society without moral instruction.<\/p>\n\n It changed the instructor.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n Then came sexual \u201cliberation.\u201d<\/p>\n\n Sex was progressively pulled away from marriage.<\/p>\n\n Pulled away from permanence.<\/p>\n\n Pulled away from family formation.<\/p>\n\n Pulled away from chastity.<\/p>\n\n And after loosening the boundaries, the culture began ridiculing the people who kept them.<\/p>\n\n In a Pew Research Center survey, 65% of U.S. adults said sex between unmarried adults in a committed relationship could be acceptable, while 62% said casual sex between consenting adults outside a committed relationship could be acceptable at least sometimes. (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.pewresearch.org\/social-trends\/2020\/08\/20\/public-attitudes-about-todays-dating-landscape\/?utm_source=chatgpt.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">pewresearch.org<\/a>)<\/p>\n\n There is the reversal:<\/p>\n\n Marriage became optional while sex became expected.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n Think about how stupid that is.<\/p>\n\n A young person says:<\/p>\n\n \u201cI intend to wait until marriage.\u201d<\/p>\n\n Modern culture looks at that person as unusual.<\/p>\n\n Another says:<\/p>\n\n \u201cI am sleeping with someone I am not prepared to marry.\u201d<\/p>\n\n And that is supposed to be ordinary maturity.<\/p>\n\n Promiscuity gets dressed up as experience.<\/p>\n\n Chastity gets mocked as ignorance.<\/p>\n\n Sexual restraint becomes something young people are expected to defend.<\/p>\n\n Pornography followed the same road.<\/p>\n\n What previous generations had to deliberately seek can now travel through the same little machine a child carries in a pocket.<\/p>\n\n A Pew survey published in 2026 found that 52% of U.S. adults considered viewing pornography morally wrong. But 47% either considered it morally acceptable or did not regard it as a moral issue. (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.pewresearch.org\/religion\/2026\/03\/19\/appendix-detailed-tables-us-morality\/?utm_source=chatgpt.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">pewresearch.org<\/a>)<\/p>\n\n Nearly half.<\/p>\n\n And America wants to teach the world what progress looks like?<\/p>\n\n No.<\/p>\n\n Look at the direction:<\/p>\n\n Sexual \u201cliberation.\u201d<\/p>\n\n Promiscuity as maturity.<\/p>\n\n Pornography normalization.<\/p>\n\n Family breakdown presented as personal freedom.<\/p>\n\n The sexualization of adolescence.<\/p>\n\n Contempt for chastity.<\/p>\n\n Marriage treated as optional while sex is expected.<\/p>\n\n Then look at the commercial machinery surrounding this sexual order.<\/p>\n\n Pornography companies sell access.<\/p>\n\n Dating companies sell access to one another.<\/p>\n\n Contraceptive manufacturers sell products.<\/p>\n\n Testing services manage risk.<\/p>\n\n Abortion providers respond when pregnancies are unwanted.<\/p>\n\n Fertility medicine responds when reproduction becomes difficult.<\/p>\n\n Counselors try to help people through pain.<\/p>\n\n Apps monetize attention.<\/p>\n\n Entertainment sells sexual imagery.<\/p>\n\n Not everyone working in these systems wants family breakdown. Many are responding to real human needs and real suffering.<\/p>\n\n That is not my accusation.<\/p>\n\n My accusation is more structural:<\/p>\n\n A civilization that loosened the bonds around sex, marriage and family also developed enormous markets for managing sex, avoiding its consequences, treating its consequences, recovering from its consequences and selling people more sexual stimulation along the way.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n That is one hell of an economy to build around \u201cliberation.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n <h2>America Did Not Merely Export Entertainment<\/h2>\n\n This is what foolish nations fail to understand.<\/p>\n\n America did not merely export movies.<\/p>\n\n America exported definitions.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n What freedom means.<\/p>\n\n What adulthood means.<\/p>\n\n What sex means.<\/p>\n\n What family means.<\/p>\n\n What sophistication means.<\/p>\n\n What an \u201cempowered\u201d woman is supposed to accept.<\/p>\n\n What an \u201cexperienced\u201d man is supposed to have done.<\/p>\n\n What teenagers are supposedly ready for.<\/p>\n\n Which old boundaries should be laughed at.<\/p>\n\n Which beliefs supposedly prove that a nation is backward.<\/p>\n\n And America had one hell of a machine for spreading those definitions.<\/p>\n\n Hollywood.<\/p>\n\n Music.<\/p>\n\n Advertising.<\/p>\n\n Universities.<\/p>\n\n News.<\/p>\n\n Social media.<\/p>\n\n Celebrity culture.<\/p>\n\n Corporations.<\/p>\n\n Political institutions.<\/p>\n\n Technology platforms.<\/p>\n\n The message did not always arrive announcing:<\/p>\n\n HELLO.
