South Korea Aquarium at Coex Mall:
Today we took a trip to a lovely little aquarium near the Gangham area in Seoul. This large aquarium houses more than 600 different species of aquatic life and more than 40,000 fish. The Coex Mall itself is filled with many interesting clothing shops, cute cafes, and restaurants. It’s easy to spend a day at the mall and around the area. This part of Seoul definitely has a more upscale feel to it. We had some delicious spicy pork at a restaurant inside the mall, just a few steps away from the aquarium entrance.
The COEX Aquarium comprises 183 display tanks and 90 breeding tanks with 3,500 tons of water volume, making it a large-scale aquarium. The COEX mall is more than just sea creatures though. We spotted penguins, alligator, ground hog and much more. COEX houses 40,000 sea creatures of 650 different species, exhibited in 16 themed zones. At the entrance to the Aquarium, there is a beautiful display of beautiful coy fishes.
In particular, the highest number of sharks and the largest variety of sea creature video species in Korea are living in this aquarium. Over 20 rest areas located throughout the aquarium, as well as an open-top water tank releasing anions make this tourist site in the heart of Gangnam a perfect healing place for local and international visitors.
Everyone in the family enjoyed this family activity. Keilah and Mommy especially enjoyed seeing the huge King crabs and the penguins which were nearer to the end of the Aquarium tour. There is also a part of the Coex mall where kids can put their hands into a fish tank and very small fish will swim up and nibble on their fingers.
Sher Trott Bailey was also fascinated by how many varieties of jellyfish there were and just how big tortoises/turtles can get. Mommy especially enjoyed walking through the mall to get to the Aquarium center as she was able to browse jewelry on sale, luxury shoes on display, Korean food shops, and toy, and candy stores. Daddy of course was being his entertaining self. This was a good family activity to do in Seoul South Korea. This was a great world schooling opportunity as well for baby Keilah.

South Korea Aquarium is a great place to play and dance to baby songs
Of course with the rise of the ” Baby shark doo doo song” one of the highlights for Keilah was seeing the sharks at the end of the tour. Creating this sea creature video and cultural immersion activities for Keilah really helped her Korean language listening skills.
