Dentistry Instead of Fake Wars

Put down the fake wars and clean somebody’s teeth.

I am tired of hearing about another pre-planned nuclear war trying to cover up ineptitude. The ineptitude being: you leaders have no actual plans for your people’s future, so hey, let’s start a war and we won’t have to explain why their lives are no better. Blame it on the war.

Russia this. America that. Iran this. Somebody has a missile. Somebody moved a submarine. Another map. Another general. Another frightened television presenter pointing at red arrows.

Busy, busy, busy.

Meanwhile somebody has been chewing on one side of their mouth for three years because a tooth hurts. And then leaders tell us there is no work.

What do you mean there is no work? Have you looked inside people’s mouths?

In the United States, about one in five adults aged 20 to 64 has at least one untreated cavity. Among adults who reported needing dental care but not getting it, 80 percent said they could not afford it. More than 70 million Americans were living in federally designated dental-health shortage areas as of March 2026. And there is not even a national minimum adult dental benefit under Medicaid. States decide what adult dental coverage they provide.

But there is no work?

Train people. Train 100 million people to offer basic dentistry for free. Train 200 million. Train 300 million if that is what it takes.

They do not all need to become oral surgeons. Train people to clean teeth, watch gums, recognize trouble early, help children maintain their teeth and send the deeper problems upward. Maintain and prevent better than having to cure all the time.

320 million One dental-care person for every 25 people across an eight-billion-person world.

If one dental-care person looked after five families averaging five people each, that is one person for 25 people. Eight billion divided by 25 is 320 million. I am not married to 320 million. I am showing you the scale of useful work sitting right in front of us.

And since Iran is one of the countries everybody wants us staring at now, let us look inside Iranian mouths too. WHO estimated that 33.6 percent of Iranians aged five and older had untreated decay in permanent teeth, and 18 percent of people aged 15 and older had severe periodontal disease in 2019.

There is work. Real work. Useful work. Work that leaves somebody physically better at the end of the day.

But national leaders want to stay pretending lofty. Geopolitics. Strategic deterrence. Great-power competition. Military posture. Nuclear readiness.

Please. We just want to get our mouths cleaned.

And don’t let me even get started on pernicious toenail fungus. That stuff is so hard to get rid of.

There are mouths to clean, feet to care for, eyes to check, children to help, old people to look after, houses to repair, food to grow and water to manage. Do not tell me there is no work. There is work everywhere. You buffoons just keep looking over ordinary human life because apparently it is not lofty enough for you.

Iran has mouths. America has mouths. The people supposedly being prepared to kill each other on television would probably both rather get their teeth cleaned. Handle reality.
