Little Things / Nuances About Children
An ongoing collection of little observations, discoveries, everyday moments, and victories in raising our children.
Boredom: Three Children, Three Different Reactions
Baby Kezideki starts pushing, pulling, and unpacking things in the house whenever he starts feeling bored or restless. He loves outside.
Keilah, my eight-year-old, starts bobbing around, doing handstands whenever she gets bored and doesn’t have a phone to watch YouTube.
Keilah loves nightlife and activities, parties, going to the beach. She really doesn’t want to be bored, but she will endure it. Thankfully, she directs some of that boredom into discovering miniature art on YouTube and getting into it.
Kaleeyon is the wildest of the bunch, but also the one most likely to find something to do. She’s the one most likely to gather towels or sheets and spread them on the ground, get boxes or any random thing, and create her little world or narratives.
Their Daddy, Big King KB
The children absolutely love Daddy!
Daddy represents outdoor fun. Going to the beach or river, going on bicycle rides to explore, a big broad back to jump on, and a strong neck and shoulders to climb.
Kaleeyon: Can’t Keep Her Pent Up for Too Long
Can’t keep Kaleeyon pent up for too long at this age of four going on five.
She gets over the top and feisty, snarky with her words.
Helping Out, Cooperating, and Growing Capable
The kids are getting better at helping out and sweeping the house, cooperating with each other.
He is lively and learning so fast, swimming and becoming more competent.
