The Best Nations Have No Answer
The United States and the nations of Europe are presented as the best examples of modern development.
They have money.
They have universities.
They have advanced technology.
They have large companies.
They have trained professionals.
They have powerful governments.
They have everything they said a nation needed to succeed. Yet they still do not know what to do with millions of young people.
What the official figures show
In July 2025, the unemployment rate for Americans aged 16 to 24 was 10.8 per cent.
In April 2026, about 2.9 million people under 25 were officially unemployed in the European Union. The EU youth unemployment rate was 15.1 per cent.
This count includes only young people who were available for work and actively looking for a job. It does not include every young person outside work.
The wider problem is larger. In 2025, 11 per cent of people aged 15 to 29 in the European Union were neither employed nor in education or training.
This group is commonly described as NEET. It includes young people who are outside both employment and education, including some who are not counted in the official unemployment figure.
These are not nations without schools, electricity, machinery or public institutions.
These are some of the richest nations on Earth.
So where is their answer?
Telling young people to stay in school longer is not an answer.
Telling them to collect more certificates is not an answer.
Telling them to improve their résumés is not an answer.
Telling millions of people to compete harder for a limited number of positions is not an answer.
The problem is not that these nations have nothing.
The problem is that they have not organized what they have into a dependable path for their young people.
They have wealth, but no plan large enough for the generation.
They have technology, but no clear place for millions of young minds and hands.
They have education, but education does not create a future by itself.
A highly developed nation should be able to show its young people where they can learn, work, build, take responsibility and form stable families.
The United States has not built that path on the scale required.
The European Union has not built that path on the scale required.
They can offer applications.
They can offer competition.
They can offer waiting and rejection.
But they have not prepared a dependable place in adult life for enough of their young people.
These nations are not the final answer for humanity.
They are wealthy nations facing a problem they do not know how to solve.
A nation is not the best because it has the most money. It is the best when it knows what to do with its people.
