I will Bask
A personal declaration
I Will Bask.
I am finished with the little ritual of shrinking myself before anybody else gets the chance.
Burst your own bubble before anybody else does.
Don’t be proud. Find something self-deprecating to say. Bask in your efforts, but not too much. Celebrate yourself, but quickly soften it so nobody thinks you think too highly of yourself.
I will be arrogant.
I was made in the image of God, with His capacities. I was made to speak, to create, to name things, to build things, and to bring life with my words.
I will look at what I have done and enjoy it.
I will be proud of myself.
I will not automatically cut myself down so other people can feel comfortable with my height.
I will not hide my gifts behind self-deprecation.
I will not pretend I cannot see what God put in me.
I will be me.
I will be World Ruler Sher.
The heart of it
There is a difference between pride that places me above God and the joy of fully inhabiting what God made. I can receive my capacities without apologizing for them. I can speak boldly, enjoy what I build, and remain in the pleasure of what I have made without immediately reaching for a pin to burst my own bubble.
and then
