MAKING A CIVILIZATION PHYSICALCHAPTER 48

First a Foodway, Then a Kingdom

We are seeking land in Bahia because we want to build a proof of civilization with room for families, orchards, public eating, water systems, learning and beautiful daily life. Our small planting work beside the street in Prado has already shown what sharing fruit can do for a neighbourhood. The larger vision allows us to connect that generosity to skilled cultivation and reliable distribution.

Imagine young people arriving at an orchard to learn how to harvest for their households. Imagine a mother coming with children to eat breakfast, an elder enjoying shade and conversation, and a family walking through land where nourishment is part of the view. The place is a working agricultural system and a public delight at the same time. Farming, schooling, service and recreation become branches of one enterprise.

We will have to measure water, soil recovery, planting success, useful yields, storage, transport and the amount of nourishment actually reaching people. Those are excellent questions. Engineers and growers enjoy such questions because physical results answer them. We want the site to generate knowledge that can be used across other districts and regions.

The first Foodway is modest compared with the ambition. It gives us something more valuable than a slogan: ground on which a person can observe what is growing.
